Homes in Colorado SpringsHomes in Colorado Springs on average are large in comparison to other comparable metro cities around the nation according to a a recent article from 24/7 Wall Street. In fact Colorado Springs ranks 3rd for home size when comparing to these other metro cities with 3 other Colorado cities making the Top 10 list. Here is the list.

Top 10 Cities for Largest Homes

  1. Provo | Orem, UT - Median SF: Median SF: 1,980
  2. Houston | The Woodlands | Sugar Land, TX - Median SF: 1,900
  3. Colorado Springs, CO - Median SF: 1,899
  4. Atlanta | Sandy Springs | Roswell, GA - Median SF: 1,872
  5. Raleigh, NC - Median SF: 1,871
  6. Boulder, CO - Median SF: 1,865
  7. Greeley, CO - Median SF: 1,854
  8. Fort Collins, CO - Median SF: 1,851
  9. Austin | Round Rock, TX - Median SF: 1,837
  10. Dallas | Fort Worth | Arlington, TX - Median SF: 1,828

Colorado Springs Ranked Top 10 Mountain Biking Cities

Colorado Springs Mountain Biking Trails | Singletrack

Colorado Springs has been ranked within the top 10 cities for mountain biking in North America by singletracks.com based on the quality, quantity and variety of singletrack trails here.  They mention some of my favorite trails within the article that are definitely worth checking out.  They limited the cities to the top 100 metropolitan statistical areas to account for cities that can be lived in for a number of other great reasons.  Here is the top 10 in order.

  1. Los Angeles, California
  2. Boston, Massachusetts
  3. Phoenix, Arizona
  4. Vancouver, British Columbia
  5. San Jose, California
  6. Salt Lake City, Utah
  7. Albuquerque, New Mexico
  8. Colorado Springs, CO
  9. Augusta, Georgia / South Carolina
  10. Chattanooga, Tennessee

Colorado Springs Ranks 23rd For Safest Cities To Drive In

Allstate released their 8th annual report based on data on their claims data history.  They ranked the 200 largest cities in the US for the frequency of collisions for the average driver in this report and Colorado Springs ranks as one of the safest at 23rd.  According to the report the average collision for a driver in Colorado Springs happens every 11.5 years. 

Four Colorado cities made the list.

  • Fort Collins - 3
  • Colorado Springs - 23
  • Denver - 55
  • Aurora - 54

This years top cities were:

  1. Sioux Falls, South Dakota
  2. Boise, Idaho
  3. Fort Collins, CO
  4. Madison, Wisconsin
  5. Lincoln, Nebraska

Washington D.C. was ranked the worst city on the list for another year.  Here is a link to Allstate's Full Report.
